The festival of lights- Diwali is just around the corner. The day that marks the return of happiness for a whole city with the return of its prince Shree Ram. Diwali is called the festival of lights, on this day firecrackers roar up in the sky, illuminating its beauty. All of us wait for the festival throughout the whole year. Running around along with friends and family as the crackers are ready to shoot up into the sky, with sweets and good meals. It is such a joyous day that brings out the happiness and enthusiasm in everyone.

The festival of light is celebrated with pomp and show, the main motive being to spread happiness. Everyone has the right to feel the same joy on this day and we can make it happen by joining the celebrations of Pehchaan- The Street School. We will be able to reach out to as many as 1500 underprivileged children with Pehchaan ki Diwali.

Sometimes even a festival can be luxurious for some people owing to various reasons, they are simply rendered unable to celebrate festivals like Diwali as normally as we do. So it is our time to take up the opportunity and help Pehchaan – The Street School with this large-scale celebration of joy, hope and light.

Once upon a time Shree Ram defeated Ravana and established the triumph of light upon darkness. Then he returned home to be welcomed grandly by his citizens with lights and celebrations. The story behind Diwali teaches us that no matter how big the darkness is, light always overcomes and defeats it. So let us make this Diwali an even happier one by sharing joy and hope with the underprivileged children under Pehchaan- The Street School. Let us defeat the darkness that prevails in our society and has been there for a long time.

And Diwali is not only about the celebrations with firecrackers. It is also about the illumination of the minds with the light of knowledge as well as awareness. Any reason that has been denied knowledge and awareness still resides in darkness, Pehchaan – The Street School fights against this very darkness of the minds of underprivileged children. The darkness, they are forced into due to their socio-economic circumstances. The darkness, they did not ask for and do not deserve.

Pehchaan- The Street School is actively working towards empowering these marginalised children, the children who sometimes go unacknowledged. The time has come for us to take a step towards the light of goodness and betterment. As our culture teaches us about “Vasu devaya kutumbakam” which translates to “the whole world being one family”, it is our responsibility to work for our family and bring them their deserved happiness. Pehchaan- The Street School is working towards making this Diwali a fulfilling Diwali by bringing little tokens of joy for the children in the form of a “Diwali Kit”. This Diwali kit comes with a new school bag, stationery combo and eatables, which are the minimum requirement for any student.

Providing every child with this kit can only be possible with our help. As Pehchaan- The Street School works completely depending on crowd-funding without any governmental aid. All we have to do is to reach out and donate so that on the day of Diwali there is truly no darkness left, so that all of these children have a Diwali kit in their hand and a big beautiful smile on their face. It is for the bigger cause of spreading happiness, we can make a little gesture with minimum effort. Towards a better cause, a happier future and a glorious Diwali, let us join hands with Pehchaan- The Street School.

Pehchaan ki Diwali is the biggest event of the year by Pehchaan – The Street School. It will be celebrated with all the 1500 students under it and in every centre of Pehchaan – The Street School from mid-October. Pehchaan – The Street School aims to provide every student with the Diwali kit and it is only we who can make it possible. By donating the bare minimum sum of INR 300 per child we can make a little one’s Diwali a truly happy Diwali rather than a plain, uneventful day in their life. It is not a great sum for a great cause and very reasonable as well. It’s been a long time and a long way for the darkness to still stick around in our society so let us light up our Diwali with the lights of knowledge, goodness, happiness and hope for the sake of a brighter tomorrow.

Let us come together to reach the possible goal of only Rs. 300 each person for 1500 students under Pehchaan – The Street School. The details of the donation can be found on the official website of Pehchaan- The Street School and the link given below.
