Ramakrishna Mission Organises National Youth Day

Students across Delhi NCR participates in the youth convention

The birth anniversary of revered Indian saint Swami Vivekanand was celebrated in Ramakrishna Mission, Gurugram. Every year 12 January marks as National Youth Day in the remembrance of Swami Ji.

Swami Shanatmananda, secretary of the Gurugram Mission, one of the regional branches of the spiritual organisation, hosted Youth Convention.

With the theme of “Empowering Youth: The Vivekanand Way,” convention keynote speaker was Sharad Vivek Sagar, founder and CEO Dexterity Global. In his address, Sagar said, “Swami Ji’s stories are not popcorn stories, you need to go back to it, and stand by it.”

While talking about keeping four core elements in life, Sagar emphasised on, “having core domain expertise, ability of concentration, strong will power and servant leadership.”

Ashish Srivastava, Associate Director, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), of Ernst & Young (EY), one of the big four accounting firms, said, “circle with value systems, be a purpose driven professional, do something for the society.”

Srivastava added: “Our company is building a better working world. Most of our workforce is young.”

Speakers included, Amala, lawyer by profession, Anvesha Sharma, who is working with UN, Ramphal, working in a corporate and school students as well.

The event was attended by students across schools of Delhi NCR. Students also did skit performances.

Revered Maharaj Swami Shanatmananda, urged attendees to stay connected with the mission and motivated with Swami Vivekananda Ji’s writings.
