However, this has raised concerns in the corporate world due to Gen Z's emphasis on diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Although companies believe that diversity and inclusion play a vital role in boosting their profits, factors such as a lack of inclusive culture, systemic barriers like inadequate flexible work arrangements, insufficient childcare support, and cultural considerations hinder their efforts to achieve it. According to ManpowerGroup's new report, 56% of Gen Z anticipate refusing to accept a job without diverse leadership, while 68% claim that their employer is not making enough effort to develop a diverse workplace.
Previously, companies prioritised profit over investment in enhancing relations with employees. Furthermore, there was a lack of awareness among millennials regarding the downsides of relentless competition and its impact on mental health. Additionally, societal pressure and the economic landscape made the Rat Race a feasible solution for achieving success.
However, the rise of the Internet era has connected the world, making Gen Z more aware of the issues and news across the globe compared to the generation before. This has made them open-minded, have liberal vide and understand the importance of fair and equal treatment in society as a whole. Additionally, the surge in the adoption of the Internet has opened several career options for them. Furthermore, even though they are the least compromising their vast knowledge may significantly impact the organization to achieve great heights, however, only if the organizations are ready to adopt new change and culture.
